An AEGEE antenna was founded in Saint-Petersburg in 1996, 5 years after the “iron curtain” had fallen. The aim of our event is to show how we lived before AEGEE, during the Soviet times. People didn’t have any opportunities to visit other countries, experience different cultures and make friends around the globe. We will tell our participants about the life style of young people from Soviet times, initiate them to an imaginary pioneer organization. We will also make a party in retro-style and show them the places in Saint-Petersburg which represent the Soviet period of our history.

The second part of the event will be devoted to the modern life in our city. We will make a workshop about AEGEE in Sankt-Petersburg, one of the most active antennas, that have broadened the minds of its members and opened them the door to Europe. AEGEE-Sankt-Perersburg has been with AEGEE during 14 years of its 25. During this period Saint-Petersburg has become an arena for many political and cultural events of European level.

How European is Saint-Petersburg now? You will know this from our workshops and city tours. The traditional European night, parties will be also included. The event will take place during the white nights, the most romantic and beautiful season of the year.
