The EIF is a meeting of one weekend, where around 120 AEGEE members
– brainstorm
– discuss
– formulate
the basic ideas for AEGEE's European level activities in 2011.
This means that we will talk about all kinds of events, projects, action days, researches and other
activities that could fit into our three thematic Focus Areas:
(1) Intercultural Dialogue, (2) Global Perspectives, (3) European Citizenship

(The outcome of the EIF is supposed to be the main input for the Action Agenda 2011 – the document that will be drafted at the EBM Riga, but more important are the concrete actions that will be organised by AEGEE members, by YOU! :)

The EIF is
– happening for the first time;
– not a „fun event“, but concentrated work (parties included, dont misunderstand us, but dont come only for them :)
– not a statutory event, but an informal AEGEE meeting;
– important for AEGEEs future!!!
– open to all members who care for AEGEE, and have ideas for improvement, especially for YOU.

We are not talking about internal problems in AEGEE! We are planning AEGEE's activities for the next year, focusing on content!

2. What is YOUR role?

At the EIF, there are three basic kinds of activities:
1. plenaries (very short, only opening & closing), where the event is explained
2. brainstorming & discussing sessions
3. planning & formulating sessions

As a participant in the EIF, you
– take part in the sessions;
– learn more and discuss about what AEGEE should focus on
– express all your ideas for European level activities
– discuss these ideas with other members, new and experienced;
– start making basic but concrete plans for activities (topic, dates, local, etc.)

It does not matter if you are experienced or not. What matters is that you are motivated and creative!


3. Why is the EIF so important for AEGEE?

In AEGEE, we want to achieve something together. For this, we need to work together more closely. During the last EBM in Kraków, we just collected all events and other activities that were supposed to happen in AEGEE in 2010, put them on a list, and called it „Action Agenda 2010“. But that doesn't make much sense, does it?

It is important that we come together in August and plan OUR activities for 2011 together. The whole Network should participate in it, because only if everybody is involved, everybody will be motivated, enthusiastic, and committed. AEGEE-Europe is not just the Comité Directeur – AEGEE-Europe is YOU, and it is YOU who can make it happen. Nobody else.

No organisationel beurocracy, just YOU, Your ideas and AEGEE!
